The weekend, and how I fought Target and won

It was a nice, calm weekend. Before my guitar lesson Friday I went to Relish and bought these coasters:
They are lovely, while the table they are sitting on is not. Then Friday night we got Chinese takeout and just generally relaxed.

Saturday the husband had an all-day Masonic event and I went to a class that is designed to refresh one's memory regarding the contents of the upcoming MPRE exam. After that horrorshow ended I went to Target to get an idea about soft slipcover prices. I really want a green and white patterned one that looks like the love seat I have in one of the pictures in an earlier post. But I'm having trouble finding that. Well, Target had a red one and some cute light aqua and red pillows. And I found myself wanting to put them in my cart, hurry through the check out line, and hope my husband wouldn'tt notice the sofa going from brown to red. See, we're not rolling in the money at this time, so he's giving me disappointed looks when I spend money.

I pouted, but put down the slipcover and the pillows. I then went to the clothing department and promptly found a yellow coat that I wanted. But I put it down too and sulked out of the store. It felt horrible. I thought being good might actually feel good. It didn't. BUT...then it did. On the drive home I started to realize I didn't want a red and aqua living room anyway. I think the green and white would be better. But I realize I did want the yellow coat, and I need one for the season.

Moral of the story: it is wise to leave the store and contemplate the would-be purchases. Some will no longer be desirable, and the ones that are still desirable would probably be good purchases.

Sulking out of a store defeated is the worst!!! I can relate to your sad story. I can't wait to graduate in December and actually have real money.

PS- Welcome to the world of blogging. It can be addicting.
PPS- I love that "Hip Hop Abs" is on your wish list!!!
