For carnivores...

Every once in a while, I want steak. Amzie had meetings late all week, so I had to cook for myself. My P90X came with an eating guide, which I am not following exactly, but I am using some of the recipes.

One of the recipies is steak with pear and peppercorn sauce. I served it - to myself - with couscous and asparagus. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable, hands down. It's so easy to just put in a dish, drizze on olive oil, add salt and pepper, grate some good paramesean cheese over it, bake and you're good to go. If anyone is interested in the sauce recipe, let me know.


Of course steaks usually come in packages of more than one, so I went ahead and cooked both pieces when I made my dinner and saved one piece for the next day's lunch.

This is just the sirloin over arugula, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese. I make a very easy balsamic vinegarette: 1tbsp olive oil, 1tbsp balsamic, 1/2 tsp spicy brown mustard, 1/4 tsp soy sauce, pepper to taste, and some garlic powder to taste. I just put all this together and whisk it. It is tasty.

Game Night!

Amzie and I like a good Game Night every once in a while. It had been a while since we'd had one, so we made a point of doing that the other night. We played Uno, which for some reason Amzie usually wins at.

Ok, honestly, this was a reenactment. He was being silly. But he truly is a bad, bad loser.

I , on the other hand, am a fantastic winner. That's an Uno card stuck to my forehead.


Buck was sitting beside Amzie during the game, trying to give him moral support while he got his Butt kicked. I ducked under the table to take this picture. What a cutie.

Cute Overload Highlights

Cute Overload is one of my favorite websites to check out when I need a two minute break from studying. I checked it out this morning after my lovely friend Chloe asked me if I had seen the Daily Coyote blog that Cute Overload displayed a link to. I highly recommend checking out the Daily Coyote. Very cool. The blogger is an adorable woman who seems to have chosen a very interesting life. Check out her "About Us" section for the details.

But then I scrolled down further and saw a link to KittyWigs.com. Oh....my....goodness. Someday the cats of the world are going to rise up and kill us all for doing this kind of crap. Either that, or they'll embrace their fabulousness. But I personally think this cat looks homicidal.

Almost ready to bring it...

The careful blog reader may notice that P90X has been removed from my Wish List. That's right kids, I ordered it! So all your Christmas presents are going to suck, but I'm going to have visible biceps.

I found P90X because of the wonders of the infomercial. People have varied opinions on the art of the infomercial. I think my husband may someday leave me for Billy "Even Lace!" Mays. And I personally adore infomercials. They are just marketing at their very finest. I know I'm being driven to want something I don't need, and I still like it. That's some good work.

Anyway, I highly recommend the P90X infomercial and/or website. It's ridiculous and I love it. You'll be ready to "bring it" too, you won't be able to help yourself...
